Responsibilities:

  • As part of your role, you will meet with issuers, assess historical and projected data, and compile this information into thorough committee presentations. Specifically, in this role, you will:
  • Serve as the primary analyst on credit transactions and prepare well-supported rating recommendations for rating committees, with clear rating reports supporting our credit opinion
  • Serve as an active, vocal voting member of the rating committee, which deliberates rating outcomes and reviews materials prior to publication
  • Publishtimelyand insightful credit reports as well as contribute to relevant research pieces
  • Demonstratestrong knowledge of ratings criteria and financial statement analysis, while staying informed on relevant news and issues affecting credit quality in the health care space and municipal bond market
  • Participatein moderately complex analytical and deal-specific situations
  • Assistin resolving client needs andparticipatein investor calls with more senior analysts
  • Contribute to research publications or special projects
  • All employeesare required towork from the office a minimum of 2 days per week

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 2-5+ years of experience in experience in the municipal markets a plus; health care sector experience (acute care hospital or health system) is highly relevant
  • A bachelor's degree isrequired; postgraduate qualifications would be an advantage
  • Ability to connect the value creation of day-to-day work with in-year priorities anddemonstratedecision-making authority over assigned work
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills in front of internal and external audiences
  • Strong attention to detail anddemonstratedskills in quantitative analysis
  • Ability to accurately interpret data and appropriately apply criteria to generate key relevant analytical insights and conclusions
  • Ability to take initiative toidentifyand address problems or suggest process improvements while paying attention to details that others may miss.
  • Werequireall candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we canproceedto an offer

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and markets, with knowledge of S&P's analytical products and services a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and aptitude for learning new applications/proprietary software
  • Demonstratedability to collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals and work as part of organizational systems
  • Experience inidentifyingareas for process improvement and implementing creative solutions
