Job Summary

Compiling analysis and preparation of deliverables to contribute to the completion of multiple engagement phases of a project. Demonstrate capabilities with moderate to high level of supervision, depending on complexity and scope of the project.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Analyst in Black & Veatch’s Infrastructure Advisory Business to support our Digital and Asset Management Systems Solutions provide digital technical solutions to clients for application and dashboard development, data engineering and data analytics. This is a growing area of our business and is a great opportunity for an early-career professional to join a dynamic and innovative team.

The Team

The Analyst Team is a diverse team of early-career professionals who are given a wide range of technical projects and skills to equip them to have a solid foundation and move into a specific career track as they advance and develop their skills and capabilities. You will also work with professionals in the Digital Delivery Team who are a dynamic, cross-functional group of experts in data, technology, GIS, and asset management systems. Together, they deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that help clients navigate complex infrastructure challenges across diverse industries.

Key Responsibilities

Performs analytical, technical, and/or developmental tasks as assigned, including:

  • Requirements gathering, data engineering, application configuration, utilization of digital applications, and digital product development.
  • Validating disparate data sources and storing externally generated data in preparation for analysis
  • Developing applications/dashboards/reports which solve our client’s unique problems and provide actionable decision support
  • Creating professional, aesthetically pleasing visualizations to deliver technical data to nontechnical consumers
  • Concisely explaining your methods, reasoning, and conclusions through effective written and oral communication
  • Preparing calculations or coding following standard methods and principles used in similar projects.
  • Recognizes and applies appropriate technical methods to diagnose issues and develop solutions and engages technical subject matter experts to fill knowledge gaps.
  • Proactively developing additional knowledge applicable to the area of expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in data science or engineering
  • 2+ years’ experience in an analytical / data- centric role
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure Design / Construction Projects
  • Basic programming skills (VBA, Python, R, JavaScript)
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL
  • Basic knowledge of data integration (/ETL) (APIs, PowerShell)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Familiarity with cloud computing services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 2-4 years experience OR Master's degree. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a business/consulting environment.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.

Position location is flexible but requires a hybrid schedule out of an existing Black & Veatch Office.

Travel expected in this role.
