About the Team
- The role sits within the APAC Financial Institutions Ratings Group and focuses on credit ratings for APAC financial institutions. The position reports to the regional Team Head based in Singapore.
- You will support the Financial Institutions (FI) team, which covers banks and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs). The team has developed a deep knowledge of Fitch-rated institutions and broader credit trends and produces high-quality research and rating reports that complement our ratings.
- This role contributes to Fitch’s franchise development in the region by broadening and deepening credit research and expanding issuer ratings coverage.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Conduct in-depth credit analysis of FIs, including evaluating financial statements and other relevant qualitative and quantitative data.
- Prepare and present credit views and recommendations at rating committees and contribute to the timely and accurate preparation of rating reports and rationales.
- Prepare detailed research reports, providing analytical insights into key credit issues and trends.
- Monitor and interpret developments in the financial sector, including regulatory changes, macroeconomic trends, and market dynamics, and assess their credit implications.
- Lead regular credit review meetings with issuers’ senior management for credits under your primary analyst coverage.
- Support the Team Head with analysis, ad-hoc tasks and research initiatives, proactively identify process improvements and analytical enhancements.
You May be a Good Fit if:
- 2-5 years of experience in credit analysis, financial institutions analysis, banking research, or a related area within ratings, banking, investment research, or financial services.
- Professional fluency in English and Mandarin required.
- Strong understanding of the APAC financial sector, regulatory landscape, and macroeconomic drivers.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw well-supported conclusions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analytical conclusions clearly and concisely to internal and external audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Familiarity with credit rating methodologies and committee-based analytical processes is advantageous.
