Position: Senior Analytics Engineer (Remote role – for applicants residing outside the UAE)

Role Overview

  • Data Modeling & Architecture:

Model complex business processes, designing and refining data models that reflect commercial, finance, and other business operations.

  • Data Pipelines:

Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL workflows using Apache Airflow and dbt – transform raw data into analytics‑ready datasets.

  • Monitoring:

Ensure data is clean, tested, and reliable before it hits the BI layer. Manage data lineage in orchestration tools like Airflow and DBT.

  • Build for History:

Design and implement historical tracking (e.g., Slowly Changing Dimensions) so we can accurately report on states at any point in the past.

  • Data Governance:

Establish and maintain data governance standards across the analytics layer and drive best practices for data lineage, ownership, and change management.

  • Streamline data development workflows and implement best practices using tools like DBT, Airflow; build data models for the metrics layer / semantic layer to enable future conversational self‑serve reporting.

Technical Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional full‑time experience in Analytics Engineering / BI / Warehouse Modelling.
  • Expert SQL:

Write performant, readable, and dry (Don’t Repeat Yourself) code.

  • dbt (Data Build Tool):

Deep experience using dbt to manage the transformation layer; experience migrating existing models from standalone SQL to dbt.

  • Data Warehousing:

Strong understanding of Big Query; experience with version control (Git), orchestration (Airflow), and BI tools (Metabase, Tableau, or Looker).

  • Dimensional Modeling:

Proficient in Kimball or Star Schema methodology to create tables that enable simple reporting.

  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and data manipulation.
  • Hands‑on experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or similar.
  • Ability to guide responsible adoption of AI in the data ecosystem.
  • Good understanding of data integration methods, including batch, real‑time/near‑real‑time, and Data Ops practices.
