Our client, a leader in advanced industrial manufacturing and automation solutions, is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to enhance their operational efficiency and technological capabilities at their facility in **Miami, Florida, US**. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and optimizing automated systems and processes across their manufacturing lines. You will be instrumental in driving productivity, improving quality control, and reducing operational costs through the strategic application of robotics, PLC programming, HMI development, and other advanced automation technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in industrial automation, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement robust automation systems for industrial manufacturing processes. Program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) from major manufacturers (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens). Develop and maintain Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. Integrate robotic systems (e.g., FANUC, KUKA) into production lines, including programming and calibration. Conduct root cause analysis for automation-related equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Optimize existing automated processes to improve efficiency, throughput, and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, production staff, and management, to define automation requirements and project scopes. Ensure all automation designs and implementations comply with safety standards and regulations. Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations personnel on automated systems. Stay current with the latest advancements in automation technology and recommend upgrades or new solutions. Manage automation projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation engineering. Proficiency in PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, etc.) and HMI/SCADA software. Experience with robotic programming and integration. Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and instrumentation. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities. Experience with CAD software for electrical design is a plus.
