Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to join their advanced engineering team in Houston, Texas, US . This role is integral to the design, development, and validation of sophisticated electrical systems for next-generation vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of automotive electrical architectures, power distribution, sensor integration, and control modules. You will be responsible for leading complex projects, ensuring the seamless integration of electrical components, and driving innovation in automotive electrical engineering. Responsibilities include: Designing and developing automotive electrical system architectures, including power distribution networks, CAN bus communication, and diagnostic protocols. Specifying and selecting automotive-grade electrical components, sensors, and actuators. Creating detailed schematics, wiring harnesses, and electrical system layouts using CAD tools. Performing electrical system simulations and analyses to ensure performance, reliability, and safety. Leading the validation and testing of electrical systems and components, including EMC/EMI testing. Troubleshooting and resolving electrical system issues during vehicle development and production phases. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and validation engineers. Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports. Ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards (e.g., ISO 26262, AUTOSAR). Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the technical growth of the team. Staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies in automotive electrical systems, including electrification and autonomous driving features. We require a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive electrical systems engineering is essential. Proven experience in designing and validating complex automotive electrical systems, including experience with power electronics, control systems, and embedded software interfaces, is required. Strong knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and diagnostic tools is necessary. Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Altium) and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE) is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills are crucial. Strong communication and leadership abilities are needed to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers in our Houston, Texas, US facility.
