Job Title: Property Risks Senior Catastrophe Analyst - Complex Risks

Division: Exposure Management

Reports To: As per Beazley's organisation chart

Key Relationships: Exposure Management, Property Risk Underwriters, Pricing, Capital Modelling Team, Ceded RI Team

Job Summary: Join us as a Senior Catastrophe Analyst, where you will leverage your expertise in natural catastrophe modeling to support the development of innovative products such as Parametric Reinsurance and Alternative Risk Transfer (ART). Your insights will be pivotal in the catastrophe modeling quoting process, risk entry, and monthly portfolio reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Actuarial Pricing for Natural Catastrophe outputs and support ART quotes.
  • Provide your expertise to maintain pricing tools for Parametric products.
  • Create Moody's (ex RMS) ELT output for comprehensive Group-wide reporting on Complex Risks.
  • Gather complex accounts for the monthly roll-up process, ensuring alignment with risk appetites.
  • Supply data to underwriters for pricing and optimizing portfolios.
  • Assist in preparing reports for external stakeholders and compliance requirements, such as Lloyd's Realistic Disaster Scenario Returns.
  • Present data to underwriters and management in a clear and digestible format.
  • Support ad hoc data requests as needed.
  • Document and maintain all process documentation.
  • Engage with underwriting support functions, including data management, pricing, capital modeling, ceded reinsurance, claims, risk management, and compliance.
  • Provide SQL reporting expertise.
  • Train Catastrophe Modellers on complex modeling accounts, sharing your knowledge and skills.

Education and Qualifications:

  • A-Level or equivalent education.
  • A graduate degree in any discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Moody's RMS or equivalent cat models.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Detail-oriented with strong numerical accuracy.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Motivational and collaborative team player, capable of working independently.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in Commercial Property Insurance.
  • Strong computer skills, including Advanced Excel, VBA, SQL, R Studio, Power BI.
  • Expertise in Parametric Insurance products.
  • Knowledge of Moody's RMS Intelligent Risk Platform.

  • 5 years experience with Moody's RMS or similar catastrophe models.
  • Background in Commercial Property Insurance.
  • High-level proficiency in Advanced Excel, VBA, SQL, R Studio, Power BI.
  • In-depth knowledge of Parametric Insurance products.

Salary for this role will be determined by the successful candidate's location and experience, with a competitive range of $100,000-$120,000 plus annual bonus.
