Job Summary
The Senior Catastrophe Risk Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of catastrophe modeling processes at K2. This position focuses on analyzing and assessing the impact of natural and human-made disasters on our business operations. You will collaborate closely with underwriting teams to model individual accounts and develop import templates while enhancing complex modeling systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and enhance exposure and modeling reporting processes within K2, ensuring data integrity across all systems.
- Maintain and update catastrophe models to evaluate potential impacts on assets, including property and infrastructure.
- Analyze extensive datasets and historical data to assess the likelihood and severity of catastrophic events such as earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, and terrorism.
- Work collaboratively with actuaries, underwriters, and risk managers to gather requirements and enhance the Exposure Management function.
- Validate and calibrate catastrophe models using historical event data and industry benchmarks to ensure precision and reliability.
- Provide expert guidance on catastrophe risk assessments to senior management, aiding in the development of risk management strategies and portfolio optimization.
- Stay informed on advancements in catastrophe modeling techniques and industry best practices to recommend improvements to existing models.
- Create detailed reports, presentations, and visualizations to effectively convey complex risk assessments and recommendations to stakeholders.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Proficient in RMS and/or Verisk's AIR catastrophe model platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret modeled results effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively as required; adept at prioritizing tasks.
Education/Experience
- College degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, General Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in catastrophe modeling and management reporting.
- Strong skills in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SQL.
Salary Range: 98,000-120,000 USD per year, depending on experience.
