Our client, a leading chemical manufacturing company based in **Miami, Florida, US**, is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to optimize and advance their production processes. This critical role involves applying chemical engineering principles to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality across various chemical operations. You will be instrumental in process design, troubleshooting, scale-up, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, practical problem-solving skills, and a commitment to operational excellence in a plant environment.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Conduct process simulations, feasibility studies, and pilot plant trials. Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for chemical processes. Perform process hazard analyses (PHAs) and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Collaborate with R&D, operations, and maintenance teams to facilitate process scale-up and technology transfer. Monitor process performance using data analysis and statistical tools. Implement process improvements to enhance yield, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Manage capital projects related to process modifications and equipment upgrades. Stay informed about new technologies and best practices in chemical engineering and manufacturing. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the chemical industry or related fields (e.g., pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals). Proven experience in process design, optimization, troubleshooting, and scale-up. Strong knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer. Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) is highly desirable. Experience with process safety management (PSM) principles and methodologies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively. Ability to work effectively in a plant environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams. EIT or PE certification is a plus.
