Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Buffalo Grove, IL

Salary: $160,000.00 USD Annually - $210,000.00 USD Annually

Description: Our client is looking for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with Fintech experience. You will lead the design, implementation, and evolution of our cloud infrastructure using standardized, automated, and secure patterns. You'll own complex infrastructure initiatives, serve as a technical leader and mentor, and help drive best practices across engineering teams and multiple cloud providers.

This role is Azure-focused, with secondary responsibility for AWS environments.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure using reusable, standardized patterns (e.g., Terraform modules).
• Own and optimize deployment automation using Octopus Deploy and Azure DevOps for infrastructure and application releases.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) libraries to enable consistent, compliant, and scalable environments across cloud platforms.
• Partner with Scrum and TechOps teams to influence infrastructure decisions early in the development lifecycle.
• Define, enforce, and evolve cloud governance, security standards, and architectural best practices.
• Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, blueprints, and standard operating procedures to enable team self-service.
• Act as a senior technical advisor and subject matter expert across engineering, operations, and product teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Platform Engineer, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating production-grade infrastructure in Azure and AWS.
• Strong experience with Octopus Deploy and Azure DevOps, including pipeline architecture and optimization.
• Proficiency managing Windows-based cloud environments; working knowledge of Linux fundamentals.
• Experience scripting and automating workflows using PowerShell or similar languages.
