We are working exclusively with a globally recognised precision manufacturer supporting aerospace and medical industries. Their Chatsworth facility is a state-of-the-art, highly automated CNC environment producing high tolerance components where uptime, accuracy and control system performance are critical. The Senior Controls Engineer will play a central role in maintaining,

improving and evolving the site’s automation capability.

As the Senior Controls Engineer your responsibilities will include

  • Diagnose and resolve complex PLC and controls faults across CNC machinery and bespoke automated equipment
  • Modify, optimise and maintain PLC programs to improve machine performance, reliability and efficiency
  • Act as the onsite subject matter expert for electrical engineering and control systems
  • Lead troubleshooting activities, supporting technicians in identifying root causes and implementing robust corrective actions
  • Interpret electrical schematics, manuals and system drawings to guide maintenance and repair activities
  • Support both planned preventive maintenance and reactive breakdown response across automated systems
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across controls, automation and machine performance

As the Senior Controls Engineer you will bring

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or a related discipline
  • Strong hands on experience with PLCs, including fault finding and program modification
  • Proven background in a manufacturing or industrial environment supporting automated machinery
  • The ability to diagnose complex electrical and control system issues without reliance on OEMs or third parties
  • A proactive, solutions focused mindset with the confidence to take ownership of critical systems onsite
