Our client, a well- established global commodities trading firm is looking to expand their business within the Asia Pacific region. The company is looking for a Senior Risk Controller to join them and this role sits within the trading business with direct exposure to senior stakeholders within the company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review daily position reports, including reconciliation and analysis from the risk system
- Produce and report weekly MTM and fair value valuations across all positions. You will be responsible for position monitoring, risk valuation and control
- Engage closely with the Business CFO and Corporate Risk Office, addressing queries and providing timely, accurate data
- Ensure all trades are captured accurately and within cut-off timelines, in coordination with the central deal ticket team
- Take ownership of risk management processes across the business
- Assess counterparty risk, including sanction checks, and support submissions for credit limit approvals
- Support ongoing system enhancements and implementation of risk controls
- Establish and maintain risk policies and procedures
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and stay updated on accounting, regulatory, and system developments
Skills/Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Risk Control or Risk Reporting within a commodity trading environment
- Chartered Accountant or MBA (Finance) with a strong accounting or risk background
- Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles
- Strong familiarity with SAP and risk/reporting systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
