We’re working with an engineering firm delivering automation solutions across warehouses and distribution centres. They’re looking for an Automation & Controls Engineer to support the design, build, and commissioning of high-throughput systems.
This is a hands‑on role focused on getting systems up and running and performing reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC control systems
- Support automation across conveyors, sortation, AS/RS, and material handling systems
- Diagnose faults across hardware and software
- Work with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Device Net, etc.)
- Support commissioning, startup, and system optimisation
- Assist with control panels, electrical equipment, and field devices
- Work closely with engineers, clients, and installation teams on‑site
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
- Strong experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLCs (essential)
- 4-7 years in warehouse automation, logistics, or manufacturing or a comparable field
- Hands‑on commissioning and troubleshooting experience
- Familiar with industrial networks and control systems
- Able to work in a client‑facing, site‑based environment
