Your Impact at Cardinal Health
As part of our Finance team, you will play a crucial role in managing accounting, tax, financial plans, and ensuring fiscal controls. You will oversee financial systems and safeguard our organization’s assets.
The Credit team is key in managing trade and note receivables, which includes credit underwriting, establishing bad debt reserves, and enhancing customer relationships. You will collaborate with sales and collections teams to manage credit risk effectively while adhering to company policies.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive credit risk analysis for new and existing complex customers, focusing on their financial structure and ownership to identify and mitigate risks.
- Monitor credit risk across a wide customer base, including retail pharmacies, healthcare facilities, and medical distributors.
- Make sound trade credit decisions for customers, both secured and unsecured.
- Work closely with Collection teams to support risk mitigation efforts and monitor overall trade exposure.
- Foster strong relationships with the sales team and external finance contacts to support customer needs.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external parties to understand and structure contracts that minimize credit risk.
- Synthesize information from various financial sources to make informed credit decisions and document them properly.
- Manage your workload efficiently while proactively collaborating with customers to meet commitments.
- Utilize your financial knowledge to establish appropriate bad debt reserves.
- Resolve conflicts diplomatically while maintaining a positive relationship with customers.
- Exhibit strong business acumen in credit underwriting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- 3-8 years of experience in a credit-related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel is required.
- Experience in commercial or trade credit underwriting is essential.
- Solid background in credit risk analysis and financial statement assessment is important.
- Familiarity with credit and collection practices, including dispute resolution and risk management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels.
- Ability to learn and effectively use a variety of financial systems.
Location
- Hybrid role with an in-office presence in Dublin, OH 2-3 days a week.
Anticipated salary range: $67,500 - $96,300
