About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst with strong experience in unsecured lending to support consumer credit products, with a primary focus on credit cards and personal loans.
In this role, you will leverage data-driven insights to shape credit risk strategies, optimize underwriting decisions, and enhance overall portfolio performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Risk, Product, Data Science, and Engineering to balance growth, risk, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor credit risk strategies for unsecured lending products
- Analyze portfolio performance, customer behavior, and risk trends to improve approval rates, reduce losses, and increase profitability
- Design and execute A/B tests to evaluate risk policies, cutoffs, and treatment strategies
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports to track key metrics such as delinquency, loss rates, vintage curves, utilization, and approval/decline rates
- Partner with data science and modeling teams to translate model outputs into actionable strategies and policy rules
- Use SQL and Python to extract, clean, and analyze large datasets
- Present insights and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement of data, tools, and processes within the Credit Risk function
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorās degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance) or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in Credit Risk within unsecured lending
- Strong preference for credit cards
- Experience with personal loans is a plus
- Strong proficiency in SQL for handling large datasets
- Experience with Python (pandas, NumPy) for data analysis and automation
- Solid understanding of credit risk concepts including:
- Scorecards
- Cutoffs
- PD / LGD / EAD
- Vintage analysis & loss curves
- Pricing & segmentation
- Experience in underwriting, line management, pricing, collections, or fraud-risk trade-offs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex insights into business recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fintech, payments, or digital lending environments
- Familiarity with credit bureau data and alternative data sources
- Experience with A/B testing, experimentation frameworks (championāchallenger)
- Exposure to machine learningābased risk models
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- Masterās degree in a quantitative discipline (preferred)
