The Senior Data Analyst plays a critical role in driving data‑informed decision‑making by performing advanced data analysis, developing reports, and optimizing data processes. Working under broad direction and using best practices, this position works with large datasets, designs dashboards and other visualisations, and provides analytics results to support business strategies. They collaborate, influence and drive consensus with cross‑functional teams, ensure data quality, provide meaningful insights, and contribute to the development of best practices in data management and analytics.
Success in this role takes more than great analysis, attention to detail, and a thirst for continual improvement – ultimately, the incumbent will be responsible for turning risk related data into a compelling story, pairing crisp insights with an engaging narrative and clear, audience‑ready visualisations.
Lead Data Analysis, Insights, Reporting, & Visualisation (Enhance Service Delivery)
Lead and coordinate data analysis, reporting, and audit activities for assigned clients or projects.
Apply analytical techniques to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
Develop reports and presentations to communicate findings and insights, tailored to different audiences, including partners and organisational leadership.
Develop visualisations and dashboards to communicate data insights to stakeholders and make data accessible. Examples may include:
Create visualisations that highlight trends, including incident frequency, severity, and resolution timelines.
Translate complex risk and incident data into clear, accessible insights for non‑technical stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, supporting informed decision‑making.
Design dashboards that integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., incident reports, claims, audits) to provide a holistic view of organisational risk.
Support the development of performance indicators.
Optimize Data Solutions & Architecture (Provide Specialised Advice and Solutions)
Design and implement data‑driven solutions to optimise processes and performance and leverage technology.
Perform source system data analysis to manage source‑to‑target data mapping and ensure that mapping is up to date.
Collaborate to rationalise and standardise cross‑platform data analysis.
Partner with TG data engineers to optimise data structures and improve accessibility.
Coordinate on SaaS product updates including support to testing.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and provide recommendations to automate data processes, improve quality and efficiency.
Advise, Collaborate, and Engage with Stakeholders (Guide with Expertise)
Collaborate with leaders to identify data requirements and ensure data deliverables are accurate, efficient and align with business objectives.
Build relationships with clients and partners and collaborate to identify and solve problems and implement solutions.
Provide technical expertise to clients and colleagues in data analysis methodologies and tools.
Work with vendors, internal and external partners to exchange information on processes, data usage, enhancements, etc.
Ensure a seamless user experience for the platforms and systems within their areas of responsibility.
Strengthen Data Governance, Leadership & Build Capacity (Influence to Drive Consensus)
Act as a data ambassador, promoting a data‑driven culture across the organisation and implementing best practices for data governance, data quality assurance, and documentation based on established organisational standards.
Create and maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation of data processes, requirements, and specifications.
Provide coaching and mentorship to team members and technical review of the work of others.
Stay current on, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and regulations related to data management and privacy.
Identify emerging trends and opportunities in the data analytics field and provide recommendations on how to leverage these to enhance the organisation's data analytics capabilities.
Actively participate in and contribute to data governance and management forums.
What we are looking for:
Qualifications include a minimum of 6‑9 years experience and a 3‑year college diploma or university degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong understanding of basic statistical concepts and data analysis techniques.
Strong competency in conducting qualitative analysis
