The Senior Data Analytics and Reporting Manager will lead the strategy and governance of EDPlan’s reporting initiatives, serving as the key subject-matter expert and product owner. Working closely with service line leaders, technical teams, and clients, you'll define requirements, implement high-quality reporting solutions, and drive continuous improvement to enhance usability and data quality. This remote role involves occasional travel (10-20%) and provides an opportunity to mentor teams, influence decision-making, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with service line leaders and stakeholders to document and define data requirements for reporting and analytics.
  • Utilize a consultative approach to understand client needs and address data-related challenges.
  • Ownership of EDPlan reporting products, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and user-friendly outputs.
  • Analyze the existing report inventory to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Establish and govern a core set of EDPlan reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client needs.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all reporting inquiries and enhancement decisions.
  • Design and develop reports and dashboards that improve access to educational data for clients.
  • Drive innovation and enhance data quality, client satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness through strategic roadmaps.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of report purposes, data sources, and business rules.
  • Track progress on tasks and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
  • Engage in professional development to refine skills in data engineering and analytics.
  • Act as a guiding expert for EDPlan reporting, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Mentor data analysts and scientists to improve processes and solutions.
  • Participate in firm-wide initiatives and projects as required.
  • Support business cycle activities, including system demonstrations and proposals.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in diverse data and analytics competencies, particularly in the education sector.
  • Experience with advanced BI frameworks and techniques in data mining, machine learning, and AI.
  • Ability to effectively communicate business use cases, data concepts, and analytical strategies.
  • Skill in translating technical language to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
  • Consultative mindset for understanding client needs and resolving complex data challenges.
  • Experience in strategic technology planning and policy development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven capability in fostering teamwork and achieving results through collaboration.
  • Exceptional communication skills for diverse audiences, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage and operationalize reporting domains effectively.

Qualifications

Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, information science, or a related field, along with equivalent work experience.

Experience: A minimum of ten years in data analytics and reporting, preferably in the education industry, with familiarity in Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) and interoperability standards (e.g., Ed-Fi, SIF, 1Edtech).

Working Conditions:

  • This role is remote with occasional travel (10-20%) to client sites and events.
  • Preference for candidates who can work Eastern or Central Time zone hours.

Compensation: Salary ranges from $125,000 to $155,000, depending on various factors such as office location, role, skills, and experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, PTO, and more.
