The Opportunity:
- We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will architect and build a governed, high-performance Data Platform on Snowflake (or Databricks) using the Medallion architecture and deliver trusted, business-ready data to analysts, operations teams, and AI workloads. You will also be responsible in supporting, optimizing and implementing best data practices for existing data sources within the AMS ecosystem. You will report directly to the Enterprise Architect and play a key role in shaping our data modernization and monetization roadmap.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and implement the Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) on Snowflake or Databricks with clear separation of ingestion, conformance, and curation layers
- Build and maintain semantic views and business-ready data models powering BI, self-service analytics, and AI/ML consumption
- Develop scalable, well-tested ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, and modern tooling such as dbt, Spark, or Snowpark
- Architect ingestion from AWS-native and streaming services including SQS, Kinesis, Kafka/MSK, S3, and DMS
- Implement data quality, observability, lineage, and access governance aligned to enterprise standards
- Optimize platform performance and cost through warehouse sizing, clustering, partitioning, and workload isolation
- Partner with the Enterprise Architect on reference architectures, platform standards, and roadmap development
- Mentor engineers and analysts on data modeling, SQL performance, and platform best practices
- Work collaboratively with business SMEs and product managers to translate requirements into data solutions within the AMS ecosystem
- Act as the AMS Data SME to other technical and delivery teams, both locally and globally
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience in production environments
- Deep expertise in Snowflake (strongly preferred) or Databricks with proven recent delivery of production pipelines at scale
- Demonstrated experience implementing layered data architecture patterns (such as Medallion architecture) end-to-end
- Strong schema and data modeling skills — dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, and history management
- Expert SQL and strong Python for transformation and automation
- Mandatory working knowledge of Mongo and AWS — S3, IAM, Lambda, Glue, and networking fundamentals
- Experience with data quality, lineage, and governance in an enterprise setting
- Experience working in agile environments alongside Digital Product Engineering teams and other technical teams
- Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) and ability to articulate complex data problems and situations to both technical and non-technical teams
- Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with AWS streaming services — SQS, Kinesis, or Kafka/MSK Hands-on experience with dbt and/or Airflow for transformation and orchestration Familiarity with Snowflake Horizon, Unity Catalog, or equivalent governance tooling
Exposure to Reverse ETL, feature stores, or ML-ready data product patterns
- Experience with orchestration and transformation tools such as Airflow, dbt, or AWS Step Functions
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and DataOps principles
- Experience collaborating with global, cross functional teams across multiple time zones
Preferred Certifications:
- SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced — Data Engineer
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional
- AWS Certified Data Engineer — Associate or AWS Solutions Architect — Associate dbt Analytics Engineering Certification
What Success Looks Like in Your First 6 Months:

- First set of semantic views published and adopted by analytics and business consumers
- Streaming ingestion pattern operational for at least one real-time use case
- Data quality, lineage, and access controls integrated into CI/CD
- Active contribution to the enterprise data platform reference architecture and standards
