Our client is a an established Bio-tech / Software company that builds a suite of SaaS products to support scientific workflows, accelerating R&D across Biology and Chemistry. We are partnered them to hire multiple data engineers (Mid and Senior level) to join a small team where you’ll be working across ETL and solving complex big data problems.
Job Title: Senior Data Engineer or Data Engineer (Based on level/experience/internal equity)
Location: 100% Remote. Must be based in US (ET or CST). Must be eligible to work for any US employer without needing sponsorship/visa transfer. No C2C or third parties.
Required Technology And Skills
- 5+ years professional data engineering experience, building, maintaining, and optimizing ETL pipelines
- Expertise with various database technologies (Graph, Mongo, SQL, etc) and experience implementing the database layer of applications
- Professional experience and expertise working hands-on with Elastic Search, and having implemented Elastic Search to support data issues of scale
- Expertise with ETL development - speeds, feeds, processing large amounts of inbound data for use downstream
- Hands-on data engineering experience with Spark or DASK
- Scala programming experience
- Experience working within bio-tech, biology, chemistry, or working with related scientific data
- Experience working with AWS environment and related tools - ECS, Lambdas, etc.
Additional Skills
- Degree in IT, Computer Science or STEM related field
- Experience in bio-tech or life sciences
- Expertise with Elastic Search, database architecture, ETL, Spark,
Salary Range: 140,000 - 180,000 base salary (Based on level/experience), with potential 10% annual bonus based on leveling
