Senior Data Engineer, Customer Data Solutions

As a Senior Data Engineer at Salesforce within the Data & Analytics organization, you will collaborate with diverse teams to design and implement robust data solutions that empower our analytics and business intelligence efforts. You will focus on building scalable, efficient data pipelines while ensuring data quality and reliability. This dynamic role will involve creating rigorous data architectures that support customer data graphs, analytics, AI/ML models, and more.

What You'll Do:

• Data Architecture: Design and implement specialized structures to support customer data graphs, enhancing agentic context and memory.

• Pipeline Development: Lead the creation of robust ETL/ELT frameworks using Python and SQL, delivering highly modular pipelines capable of managing petabyte-scale data while adhering to strict data quality guidelines.

• High-Performance Data Solutions: Develop customer identity graphs that ensure efficient data delivery to applications and AI with sub-second response times.

• Technical Leadership: Act as a mentor for a specialized team of data and AI engineers, fostering technical excellence and enhancing the team's skillset.

• Strategic Roadmap Development: Collaborate with product managers and engineering leaders to align graph strategy and architecture with broader Data360 and graph database initiatives.

• Operational Excellence: Define and enforce rigorous technical standards for data quality and latency to guarantee reliable, real-time insights for agents.

• AI Integration & Automation: Lead transformative projects to automate the data delivery pipeline, ensuring seamless integration among internal databases, third-party APIs, and the AI orchestration layer.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.

• A related technical degree is required.

• Proficient in data engineering languages and tools, including Python, SQL, and Spark.

• Strong understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and ETL processes using tools such as Airflow, dbt, Informatica, etc.

• Experience with cloud data solutions, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Familiar with various data warehousing and integration techniques, including SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Experience with the Salesforce Ecosystem, particularly Data Cloud.

• Aptitude for problem-solving to tackle data-related challenges.

• Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional setting.
