Senior Data Scientist / AI Engineer - GenAI - (Python/SQL/ML)

Robert Walters is partnering with a leading UK financial services organisation on a high-impact Senior Data Scientist opportunity within a growing AI and Data Science function.

The role will focus on building, deploying and improving productionised machine learning and GenAI products across customer-facing and operational use cases. This is not a purely research-focused position. The business needs someone who can take models and AI solutions through to live production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Build, deploy and optimise machine learning and GenAI solutions
• Own data science products across the full lifecycle, from concept through to production
• Work closely with product, engineering and business stakeholders
• Support multiple AI initiatives across health, life and operational use cases
• Improve model performance, reliability and commercial impact
• Help shape best practice as the team continues to grow

Key requirements

• Strong Python and SQL experience
• Proven experience deploying models into production
• Experience working closely with engineering and product teams
• Exposure to GenAI, LLMs or AI-enabled applications
• Strong understanding of model lifecycle, deployment and monitoring
• Confident stakeholder engagement skills

This is a 12 month FTC with strong long-term potential for the right person.
