Data Science is pivotal to our product development and decision-making processes at Coinbase. Collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Design teams, we generate insights that directly influence our company's success.

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Base app team. The Base app offers individuals a censorship-resistant way to manage their cryptocurrency. In this role, you will collaborate with various teams focusing on app growth. Potential projects include developing growth models, mapping input metrics to teams, creating frameworks for experimentation to assess incrementality, and analyzing blockchain data for new product opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing testing strategies to gain insights into key product metrics and enhance product strategy.
• Serving as a strategic resource for teams by conducting in-depth analytics and modeling to prioritize opportunities and deliver actionable insights.
• Creating and implementing new analytics and machine learning models to enhance insights and directly impact the product.
• Evaluating business performance, refining core metrics, and developing reports to monitor key performance indicators.
• Transforming data findings into compelling narratives and sharing them across Coinbase, including with senior leadership.
• Initiating, developing, and maintaining high-quality data pipelines and models.

What we seek from you:

• A BA/BS degree or equivalent experience, with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD and 5 years of experience.
• A demonstration of our core values: effective communication, positive attitude, continuous improvement, and efficient execution.
• A solid understanding of statistical principles and practical application skills.
• Familiarity with experimentation best practices and concepts (e.g., incrementality, cannibalization).
• Experience with data analysis using SQL.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Python).
• The capability to independently devise analytic project plans and manage large, complex analytical projects across multiple teams.

Nice to have:

• Prior experience in the cryptocurrency industry.
• Expertise in product, marketing, growth, or business analytics.

Pay Transparency Notice: * Based on your location, the expected annual base salary for this role ranges from $207,485 to $244,100 USD. Total compensation may also include equity, bonuses, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
