Senior Data Scientist - Bioinformatics

This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere within the US. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing advanced computational and statistical methods to analyze large-scale biological datasets, including genomic, proteomic, and transcriptomic data. You will be responsible for extracting meaningful insights, building predictive models, and collaborating with research teams to drive scientific breakthroughs. Key responsibilities include developing and validating bioinformatics pipelines, performing complex statistical analyses, visualizing data for interpretation, and contributing to peer-reviewed publications. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of molecular biology, genetics, and advanced statistical modeling techniques. A Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field is required. A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in bioinformatics or computational biology research is essential. Proven expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, along with experience in machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) is mandatory. Familiarity with high-performance computing environments and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills are needed to effectively present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
