Data Science plays a vital role in Coinbase’s product development and decision-making processes, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Design to influence our roadmap and better understand user needs. With profound expertise in experimentation, analytics, and advanced modeling, we deliver insights that significantly impact our business.

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join the Coinbase Developer Platform and Stablecoins team. This team focuses on building decentralized applications and facilitating instant global payments via stablecoins. Your role will involve defining metrics for developer tools, creating user funnels, and guiding product decisions based on user insights. You may also work on stablecoin economics and ecosystem fund flows, helping to design strategies that enhance stablecoin liquidity worldwide. Your analyses and dashboards will engage leaders at the forefront of decentralized application development and decentralized finance (DeFi).

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze complex business challenges and generate insights that guide strategic decisions.
• Oversee a comprehensive range of data and metrics, from logging to visualization.
• Lead code reviews, provide expertise in SQL and Python, and maintain efficient ETL processes.
• Uphold high statistical rigor on your team, ensuring robust experimentation and analysis to build stakeholder confidence.

What We Seek in You:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Computer Science) along with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 3+ years of experience.
• Proven track record in leading impactful data science projects within uncertain problem areas.
• Strong ability to communicate data insights effectively to influence external stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience in applying complex modeling techniques to concrete business challenges.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with digital products in an iterative development process.
• Exemplification of core cultural values: clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position ranges from $180,370 to $212,200 USD. Total compensation may also include equity, bonuses, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
