This role is essential in bridging business requirements with technical solutions, emphasizing requirements analysis, enhancing business processes, and enabling data-driven decision-making to aid in IT transformation and modernization efforts. Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and mentor a team of Junior developers while delivering vital capabilities for the client.
  • Develop innovative solutions using Databricks (Python, Pyspark) to fulfill business functional requirements.
  • Assess and design modifications to existing data model solutions as necessary.
  • Deploy code into production utilizing Gitlab.
  • Establish test cases and review test outcomes to ensure solutions function as intended.
  • Create data models and reports leveraging datasets from ERPs and legacy systems.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Security Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Availability: Must be able to work 2 days each week onsite at the Taylor Building in Crystal City.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Previous experience leading a team of Junior developers on 2 or more projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on software development experience with Python and Pyspark.
  • Proficiency in Databricks, including data pipeline development and workflow automation.
  • Experience with Dev/Ops and CI/CD methodologies utilizing Gitlab.
  • Knowledge of Army operations and proven skills in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with both relational and non-relational database design and architecture.
  • Able to collaborate cross-functionally and engage in discussions effectively.
  • Understanding of cloud architecture, specifically with commercial cloud providers (AWS/Azure).
  • Experience with software engineering tools and processes (e.g., estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in knowledge sharing, including conducting code reviews and creating solid documentation.
  • Self-motivated and driven personality.
  • Commitment to mission-oriented work and making a meaningful impact.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience with implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to foster positive outcomes among diverse teams.
  • Experience working within the DoD.
  • Familiarity with GFEBS or other SAP ERP systems.

The expected salary for this role is between $125,000 and $180,000 USD.
