About The Role
Welltower’s Senior Data Scientist makes value out of data. This role works with the current data science team, integrates information from various sources, analyzes it to enhance business performance, and analyzes output from AI tools that automate processes within the company. The Senior Data Scientist reports to the Lead Data Scientist and helps discover information hidden in vast amounts of data to support smarter decision-making. The primary focus is applying data engineering and predictive analytics techniques, conducting statistical analysis, and building high-quality prediction systems integrated with the business model.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Business Insights team with Welltower’s data and analytics strategy and predictive analytics applications across Welltower.
- Work on creating predictive models and solutions to consume data for analytics.
- Select features, build and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques.
- Data mining using state-of-the-art methods.
- Extend the company’s data with third‑party sources as needed.
- Analyze outputs from predictive analytics models to provide meaningful information for Welltower’s investment process.
- Enhance data collection procedures to include information relevant for building analytic systems.
- Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and present results clearly. Travel to other Welltower office locations is possible.

Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge of the data and analytics landscape with at least 3 years of work experience.
- Strong technical skills in Reporting, Programming, Predictive Modeling, and Solution Architecture.
- Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as neural networks.
- Experience with data science toolkits (R, MATLAB, Python, etc.). Excellence in at least one is highly desirable.
- Experience with data mining and data visualization tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau).
- Good applied statistics skills (distributions, correlation, statistical testing, regression).
- Good communication skills and data-oriented personality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with business and technology partners.
- Familiarity with Real Estate and Healthcare industries and experience in consolidating data from diverse source systems.
- Knowledge of enterprise profitability, business planning, and forecasting.
Education
- PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics with a focus on Predictive Analytics. Background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or related field is required.

- Build predictive analytics models and improve the accuracy of results.
- Support initiatives affecting Welltower’s data and analytics solutions.
- Protect Welltower’s data and monitor it against misuse and loss, with senior management regularly assured of this, and no breaches occurring.
