Senior Data Scientist, Supply Chain Analytics

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to join their fully remote analytics team, specializing in supply chain optimization. This role is critical in leveraging advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques to drive significant improvements in efficiency, cost reduction, and overall performance of our global supply chain operations. As a remote-first expert, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that address complex supply chain challenges.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of data science projects, from problem definition and data exploration to model development, validation, and deployment. You will translate intricate business requirements into data science problems, design experiments, and communicate your findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms for supply chain forecasting, optimization, and risk management. Analyze large, complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights related to supply chain operations. Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses and validate model performance. Build and deploy predictive models and machine learning solutions into production environments. Collaborate closely with supply chain, operations, and IT teams to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions. Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels. Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and supply chain analytics. Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the team's technical growth. Develop and maintain data pipelines and ensure data quality and integrity. Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance data science capabilities. Contribute to the development of data visualization dashboards to monitor key supply chain metrics.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field. 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science, with a focus on supply chain analytics or operations research. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch). Strong expertise in SQL and experience working with large datasets and databases. Proven experience with various machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis). Familiarity with supply chain concepts (e.g., forecasting, inventory management, logistics, network optimization). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience. Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting. Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
