This role is based in the Real-World & Clinical Data Strategy (RWCDS) team which drives data excellence and analytics to power enhanced decision-making and evidence-generation within Roche Product Development. We develop and implement data strategies that unlock the value of clinical, operational, and real-world data to accelerate evidence generation, decision-making, and innovation across PD and beyond. By embedding FAIR principles, advancing data governance, and enabling data productization, RWCDS ensures that data is not only findable and usable, but also a driver of scientific rigor, regulatory readiness, and AI-powered transformation. Through deep partnerships with internal functions and external collaborators, we shape a future-ready data ecosystem that supports personalized healthcare and efficient drug development.

The Opportunity:

The Data Strategy & Analytics Specialist contributes to the design and execution of data strategies and analyses that enable decision-making and insight generation across a therapeutic area or molecule portfolio. Working under the Data Strategy & Analytics Lead, you will partner with cross-functional teams to align data strategy with clinical and translational goals, identify key data assets, and support the delivery of integrated evidence plans. You will also contribute to the translation of scientific and business needs into analytical frameworks and data-driven solutions. This role demands a strong foundation in data science, analytics planning and execution, and an ability to bridge scientific questions with practical data solutions. Key Job Responsibilities include:

• You lead the execution of defined components of therapeutic area or program-level data strategies, including the integration and use of diverse data types

• You design and execute analyses for specific use cases leveraging multi-modal data sources across real-world, clinical, and operational domains

• You independently apply and advocate for standard data models and metadata practices to support data governance and harmonization efforts

• You act as a subject matter expert in data sourcing, curation, and readiness for scientific and operational use

• You proactively analyze and document data requirements for assigned projects, proposing structured solutions

• You drive improvements in data accessibility and analytical usability through collaborative efforts with internal partners and stakeholders

• You play a pivotal role in the conduct of high-impact studies, transforming diverse clinical and real-world datasets into actionable evidence that informs regulatory filings, medical decision-making, and asset strategy.

Who you are:

• You hold a Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Life Sciences, Informatics, or a related technical discipline

• You have 3+ years of experience working with clinical, operational, or real-world data

• You have advanced experience with modern analytics softwares (R, Python, etc.)

• You have working knowledge of metadata management, data standardization, or data mapping approaches

• You have the ability to translate research or operational needs into data requirements and workflows

• You have the capacity for independent thinking and ability to make decisions based upon sound principles

• You exhibit excellent strategic agility including problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and agility that extends beyond technical domain

• You demonstrate respect for cultural differences when interacting with colleagues in the global workplace

• You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically in the areas of presentation and writing, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear language

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience generating scientific and business insights from Real World Data (e.g., electronic health records, insurance claims) and clinical trial data to support evidence generation.

• Experience using or curating OMOP, CDISC, or similar data standards

• Exposure to cloud-based data engineering tools or knowledge graphs

• Familiarity with the clinical development process or clinical trial systems

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Massachusetts is $107,400.00 - $199,400.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
