Overview

The Role

As a Senior Database Management Analyst, you will be a key player responsible for the design, implementation, management, and optimization of complex database systems that power mission-critical functions. This position demands an expert in developing, maintaining, and securing database environments, ensuring data availability, integrity, and reliability. You will lead initiatives in data modeling, establish database standards, and conduct thorough analyses to boost data quality and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement sophisticated database architectures that align with organizational and project needs.
  • Oversee, maintain, and update database systems to guarantee optimal data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Analyze database performance, troubleshooting issues, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Enforce database security measures in compliance with federal regulations and industry best practices.
  • Develop and manage procedures for backup, restoration, and disaster recovery to ensure data availability.
  • Perform data migration, transformation, and integration across various platforms and systems.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for database structures and maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, business analysts, and stakeholders to address database-related issues and support program goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and government standards in database activities.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior database team members, fostering professional development.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications - What You Need

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, but 18 years of directly relevant professional experience can substitute for education.
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering or IT.
  • Proven leadership experience in software development and training initiatives.
  • Possession of a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) certifications.
  • Secret clearance is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitive nature of the work.
  • Ability to pass a background check, which may be required at any time during employment.

  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Proficient in handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Skilled in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 20+ years of professional experience in engineering or IT.
  • Experience with Integrated Training and Maintenance Support Suite (ITMSS) software development.

Working Conditions
