Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer specializing in electrical design for power generation systems. In this role, you will lead the customization of electrical design work for diesel generator sets, synchronizing systems, switchgears, and controllers. You will be responsible for creating technical drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and ensuring seamless integration with Building Management Systems (BMS) and other industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Production: Create detailed electrical drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation required for factory production and fabrication.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to ISO standards and relevant regional electrical standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Procurement to qualify suppliers and parts, and work closely with Manufacturing to oversee electrical installations and production flow.
- Tender Support: Collaborate with Sales and Industrial Solutions teams to translate design requirements into timely tender submissions.
- Testing & Validation: Support the testing of designs, including parameter optimization for controllers, governors, AVRs, PLCs, and HMI.
- Programming: Design and program various controllers, PLCs, and HMI systems as required.
- Technical Support: Provide both on-site and remote troubleshooting support for complex electrical issues.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Lead continuous improvement projects to drive efficiency and mentor junior engineers to ensure high standards of engineering practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with 7-8 years of relevant experience; OR a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 10-12 years of experience.
- Must be highly skilled in SEE Electrical.
- Deep understanding of generator controllers, alternator working concepts, and generator protection systems.
- Experience with process change management tools and methodologies.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on cost reduction and operational efficiency.
- Specialized skills or being a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a specific electrical field is highly preferred.
