Overview

Join ENERCON's Nuclear Services Group as a Senior Digital Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer! Take the lead in transforming critical infrastructure by transitioning from traditional analog systems to modern computer-based I&C solutions. Collaborate with industry experts, innovate with purpose, and contribute to impactful projects. This opportunity is open in various locations including Kennesaw, GA; Chicago, IL; Naperville, IL; Chattanooga, TN; Charlotte, NC; Baton Rouge, LA; Birmingham, AL; Palm Beach Gardens, FL; King of Prussia, PA; and Overland Park, KS.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering Change Package (ECP) Development: Develop comprehensive Engineering Change Packages to upgrade outdated analog I&C systems to advanced digital solutions. This includes creating and revising essential documentation such as specifications, system descriptions, layout diagrams, and operation manuals.
  • Testing & Analysis: Craft test plans and detailed instructions, conducting engineering calculations and analyses such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and response time analysis, to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • System Design & Procurement: Specify functional requirements for the acquisition of digital I&C systems, and review OEM digital platform documentation to meet project needs.
  • Project Support & Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Project Management to provide accurate estimates and support project timelines. Engage in project meetings to foster strong relationships with colleagues and clients, ensuring successful execution of engineering activities.
  • Regulatory & Standards Compliance: Gain proficiency in the relevant regulatory requirements and industry codes that are applicable to digital I&C systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of I&C engineering experience with a focus on computer-based platforms, preferably within the nuclear sector.
  • At least 6 years of experience in developing test plans.
  • Proficiency in the design and testing of major digital control and monitoring system upgrades, including systems like turbine/generator controls and cybersecurity platforms.
  • Hands-on experience throughout the entire digital upgrade life cycle, from feasibility studies to installation and testing.
  • Familiarity with current regulatory and industry standards for digital upgrades.
  • Knowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in I&C systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with effective performance across different staff levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Willingness to travel 15-25% of the time, ranging from weeks to months based on project needs.

Pay Range

USD $102,400.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
