Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Data Centers
Location: Greater Toronto Area
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of complex data center projects. This role will be responsible for leading the electrical design scope across mission-critical projects, ensuring all systems are designed to meet performance, reliability, and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design of data center projects from concept through construction
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, clients, and contractors to ensure design intent is achieved
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Support the design of key systems including power distribution, UPS, generators, backup power, lighting, and related electrical infrastructure
- Identify technical risks, resolve design issues, and support project execution
- Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer or similar role within engineering, construction, or mission-critical environments
- Strong data center project experience is required
- Deep understanding of electrical systems within mission-critical or complex infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of power distribution, backup systems, and electrical design coordination
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
