Senior/ Electrical Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implementing the design checklist and tracking progress;
• Prepare electrical tender packages including specification and drawings;
• Responsible for ensuring to remain familiar with current practices and engineering trends within the industry and to remain technically competent;
• Lead the Electrical Design on large scale projects during the design and construction phase;
• Design of High Voltage switchgear and Low Voltage switchboards, motor control systems, transformer, generators, High Voltage and Low Voltage Cable systems, lighting and small power systems for Clean rooms, Industrial Facilities and Commercial Buildings;
• Carry out design calculation deemed necessary for executing the project, which includes, short circuit calculation, load flow, cable sizing, lighting calculation;
• Execute/Expedite electrical packages during construction phase of a project and taking responsibility for the assigned electrical packages;
• Design of Life Safety System comprising of Public Address Systems, Access control, Closed Circuit, Gas Detection and Fire Alarm systems with the support of a Lead Engineer if necessary;
• Design of Information Technology cabling System with the support of a Lead Engineer if necessary;
• Develop P&IDs, Instruments and IO list, Sequence of Operations, Logic Diagrams, Cause and effect matrices with the support of Lead Engineer if necessary;
• Develop / Execute / Expedite ELV packages during design, procurement, construction phase of a project and taking responsibility for the assigned packages;
• Co-ordination and scheduling activities for Electrical/ELV supervisors on a project to ensure timely delivery at project milestone dates;
• Tendering and estimating of electrical/ELV works for projects prior to award

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation & Controls Engineering
• Experience in design and construction for Electrical/ELV projects
• Extensive knowledge of local code of practice for design implementation
• Extensive local construction knowledge
