Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems across a variety of projects. This role serves as a senior technical authority, providing leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring projects meet industry standards and client expectations.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in the AEC industry (preferably healthcare projects) and has a proven ability to lead medium to large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design efforts for medium to large-scale projects
- Delegate complex tasks and provide technical oversight to engineering teams
- Review and approve detailed designs, calculations, and system simulations
- Evaluate product submittals and shop drawings
- Respond to complex RFIs with technical accuracy
- Conduct site visits to resolve critical field issues
- Prepare technical documentation and engineering reports
- Act as a senior technical advisor in client and internal meetings
- Ensure projects meet schedule, quality, and budget targets
- Develop and adjust project workplans as needed
- Mentor and guide engineers across all experience levels
- Support team leadership and contribute to overall project success
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Experience
- 9+ years of progressive experience in the AEC industry
- Healthcare project experience preferred
Technical Skills
- Expertise in multiple engineering software tools
- Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and QA/QC processes
Leadership Skills
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Experience mentoring and developing engineering staff
Communication Skills
- Strong client-facing and presentation abilities
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical mentor and advisor to electrical engineering staff
- Provide quality oversight for discipline deliverables
- May seal and sign project documents where licensed
Work Environment
- Hybrid role (primarily office-based with periodic site visits)
- Exposure to field conditions during site inspections
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs
- Site visits may include climbing ladders and navigating uneven terrain
