Job Description

Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.

We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.

We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.

If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

About This Role: Crusoe is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Power Systems organization. This role is a high-level technical position responsible for the design, construction, commissioning, and long-term operational success of our power plant facilities across the USA. You will serve as the primary subject matter expert for power generation assets, bridging the gap between front-end design and field execution.

  • QA/QC Oversight: Review vendor drawings, check wiring diagrams against schematics, and ensure all design deliverables from consultants meet project specifications.
  • Project Execution: Provide technical guidance during the construction and commissioning of power plant assets. Support and provide input to field teams and third-party consultants on complex electrical issues.
  • Operational Support: Partner with Field Operations to troubleshoot electrical failures, perform root-cause analysis, and optimize existing power infrastructure for maximum uptime.
  • Technical System Integration: Apply deep technical expertise across power generation assets, including generator physics and operations. Specify and integrate high and medium voltage equipment such as 34.5 kV GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) indoor units, GSU (Generator Step-Up) Transformers, and MV/LV Switchgear and MCCs (Motor Control Centers).
  • Advanced Controls: Utilize working knowledge of Governor and AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) controls.
  • Modern Protocols & Studies: Implement the IEC 61850 standard, including GOOSE & MMS protocols. Conduct Protection & Control coordination studies and fault analysis.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and a minimum of 6+ years in industrial electrical engineering.
  • Standards & Compliance: Expert working knowledge of NEC application to industrial installations.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively with both engineers and operations personnel.
  • Travel: Ability to travel approximately 20% to project sites.
  • Technical Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of generator physics and operations. Proficiency in Protection & Control coordination studies and fault analysis. Knowledge of the IEC 61850 standard.
  • Company Values: Embody the Company values.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Simple and Combined Cycle Turbine Generators (10 MW – 600 MW) and Reciprocating Engines (3 MW – 20 MW).
