Our client is searching for a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in Power Systems to join their dynamic team in Miami, Florida, US . This role involves the design, development, and implementation of complex power solutions for a variety of cutting-edge projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical foundation combined with practical experience in power electronics, grid integration, and renewable energy systems.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and analysis of electrical power systems, including load flow, short circuit, and stability studies. Develop specifications and schematics for power distribution, protection, and control systems. Oversee the selection and integration of electrical components, such as transformers, switchgear, and generators. Conduct detailed simulations and modeling of power system performance using industry-standard software. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, to ensure project success. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Perform site assessments and commissioning of electrical systems. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., IEEE, NEC). Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to power system operation. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in power engineering technologies and best practices. Contribute to the development of new products and solutions in the power sector. Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical power system design and analysis. In-depth knowledge of power system principles, including AC/DC theory, thermodynamics, and control systems. Proficiency with power system simulation tools such as ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD, or similar. Experience with renewable energy integration (solar, wind) and energy storage systems is highly desirable. Familiarity with high-voltage equipment and substation design. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong project management and leadership capabilities. Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a significant advantage.
