Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems to join their team in Seattle, Washington, US . This is a critical role requiring deep expertise in the design, analysis, and implementation of complex electrical power infrastructure. You will be responsible for leading engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Key responsibilities include developing detailed electrical schematics, specifications, and design documents for power distribution, generation, and control systems. You will perform load flow analysis, short circuit calculations, and protection coordination studies to ensure system stability and reliability. This role also involves site visits for project monitoring, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical equipment. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and engineering of electrical power systems, including distribution, generation, and control. Perform detailed analysis of power systems, including load flow, short circuit, and harmonic analysis. Develop and review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and protection schemes. Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators, and motors. Conduct site visits for design verification, construction support, and system commissioning. Ensure designs comply with national and local electrical codes (NEC), industry standards (IEEE, NERC), and client requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical system issues. Mentor and guide junior electrical engineers on technical matters. Collaborate with project managers and other disciplines to ensure project success. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in power systems engineering. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical power systems engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. In-depth knowledge of power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, SKM). Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NERC). Experience with renewable energy integration and distributed generation is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proven ability to manage projects and lead technical teams.
