Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a specialization in Power Systems to join their innovative team in Provo, Utah, US . This role will involve the design, development, and testing of complex electrical systems, with a particular focus on power generation, distribution, and protection.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of electrical power systems for new projects and existing infrastructure. Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and component specifications using industry-standard software. Conduct load flow studies, short circuit analyses, and protective relay coordination to ensure system stability and safety. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and control systems specialists, to ensure integrated system performance. Perform site visits for system commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance verification. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices in electrical engineering. Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements related to power systems. Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years focused on power systems design and analysis. Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, PSS/E, or similar. Strong understanding of power system principles, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and protection schemes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. P.E. license or EIT certification is highly desirable. Experience with renewable energy integration is a plus.
