Our client, a pioneering firm in renewable energy solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Boston, Massachusetts . This role is instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing advanced electrical systems for innovative power generation and distribution projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the electrical engineering aspects of complex projects, from conceptualization through to commissioning. This includes system design, component selection, schematic development, power studies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of electrical systems. Key responsibilities involve performing detailed power system analysis, including load flow, fault studies, and transient stability. You will also be involved in specifying electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, and protection relays, and overseeing their procurement and installation. A deep understanding of power electronics, grid interconnection, and renewable energy technologies is essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to tackle challenging engineering problems. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop electrical systems for power generation and distribution. Conduct power system studies, including load flow, fault, and stability analysis. Specify and select electrical equipment and components. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation. Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Collaborate with project teams, vendors, and clients. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in electrical power systems engineering. Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD). Strong knowledge of power electronics, protection systems, and control systems. Experience with renewable energy technologies (solar, wind) is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
