The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineering Lead, you will lead the design and standardisation of electrical infrastructure for next‑generation data centres. You will own and evolve Reference Designs for hyperscale and retail product tracks, ensuring scalability, resilience, cost efficiency, and compliance with global and regional standards.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role with real influence, working closely with Design Delivery, Construction, Operations, and suppliers to enable high‑density, liquid‑cooled, hyperscale‑ready facilities across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain electrical Reference Designs for hyperscale and retail data centre offerings
  • Design resilient, scalable electrical distribution and substation systems for high‑density environments
  • Ensure compliance with regional electrical codes and internal standards (IEC, NEC, etc.)
  • Conduct engineering analysis, feasibility studies, and value engineering to optimise cost and performance
  • Support localisation of designs alongside Design Delivery & Construction teams
  • Partner with Operations to drive reliability, maintainability, and continuous improvement
  • Review and approve critical equipment submittals, FATs, and acceptance testing
  • Work closely with suppliers and OEMs to specify and qualify electrical equipment
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical system issues
  • Drive innovation and R&D, including liquid cooling integration and advanced monitoring technologies
  • Produce high‑quality technical documentation, specifications, schematics, and white papers
  • Act as a subject matter expert across regions and lead technical forums
  • Champion health, safety, environmental, information security, and regulatory compliance standards

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, including 5+ years in mission‑critical facilities
  • Strong knowledge of data centre electrical systems, including:
  • Medium‑ and high‑voltage distribution
  • UPS systems, diesel generators, switchgear, PDUs, ATS/STS, VFDs
  • High‑voltage substations
  • Solid understanding of regional electrical codes and standards (IEC, NEC, CCC, etc.)
  • Experience with controls systems and system integration
  • Proven ability to take new designs and technologies from concept through deployment
  • Experience managing suppliers, OEMs, and factory acceptance testing
  • Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM
