Manages, posts and reconciles accounts payable and receivable.
Creates and verifies accounting reports.
Prepares and analyzes financial and operational reports.
Reviews and analyzes the organization's accounting operation; establishes, develops, and/or recommends economic objectives and policies to management.
Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff follow organizational policies, procedures, and government regulations.
Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
Assists in the preparation of corporate budgets and forecasts, and with establishing financial standards.
Supports Manager with tax returns, and internal and external audits ensuring compliance.
Supports month end and year end close processes.
Assists with special accounting projects as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in finance, accounting, or similar field.
Six or more years of experience in finance or accounting and overseeing employees.
In depth knowledge of bookkeeping, financial reports and analysis, and Canadian generally accepted accounting principles and related laws and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Demonstrated ability to conduct data analysis, evaluation and anticipate the impact on the organization.
Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
Ability to work with all levels of management.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
