Job Description

Our client, a prominent player in the financial services sector, is seeking a highly analytical and driven Senior Financial Analyst to join their Banking & Finance division in San Diego, California, US . This role is essential for supporting strategic decision-making through in-depth financial analysis, modeling, and reporting. You will be responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, performing due diligence, analyzing market trends, and providing insights to guide the firm's financial strategies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong quantitative background, exceptional modeling skills, and a thorough understanding of financial markets and corporate finance principles. You will work closely with senior management, M&A teams, and other finance professionals to deliver high-impact financial intelligence. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex financial data clearly and concisely.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop complex financial models to support valuation, forecasting, and scenario analysis for potential investments and strategic initiatives. Conduct in-depth financial analysis of companies, industries, and market trends. Assist in the evaluation and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Prepare comprehensive financial reports, presentations, and memos for senior management and board meetings. Perform due diligence on potential investment targets, assessing financial health and risks. Monitor portfolio performance and provide recommendations for optimization. Collaborate with various departments, including corporate development, treasury, and accounting, to gather financial data and ensure accuracy. Stay abreast of economic conditions, regulatory changes, and industry developments affecting the financial markets. Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and improved financial performance. Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial planning and analysis processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field; MBA or CFA designation is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, investment banking, corporate finance, or a related role. Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills, with a proven ability to build robust and dynamic models. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and corporate finance concepts. Proficiency in data analysis tools and financial software (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, advanced Excel skills). Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information effectively. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in the banking or investment management industry is a significant advantage.
