Job Description

This role will support the design, testing, and manufacturing of electrical systems and components used in highly engineered power and control applications. The Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer will work cross-functionally with mechanical, structural, thermal, and other technical teams to develop and optimize designs based on system requirements. This person will play a key role in electrical architecture, control systems, test infrastructure, documentation, and supplier support

across multiple projects.

Location: Seattle, WA hybrid. In-office presence is required Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Remote work is optional on Mondays and Fridays.

Compensation Range: $145,000 - $185,000 annually.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with a multidisciplinary engineering team to support the design, testing, and manufacturing of electrical components and subsystems.
  • Interface with cross-functional technical teams to implement and optimize designs based on system requirements.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of complex control systems in both R&D and production environments.
  • Create and manage project-level power and data budgets.
  • Review and support designs related to control systems, power distribution, power conversion, battery systems, and data communications.
  • Design test racks, including data acquisition systems, power supplies, communications, sensors, and grounding schemes.
  • Develop and review electrical subsystem documentation, including specifications, interface control documents, bills of materials, test plans, procedures, and test reports.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in support of supplier design reviews, fabrication activities, and testing.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university plus 7+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience with controls, electrical diagramming, and harness design tools such as LTspice, Altium, LabVIEW, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Proficiency with standard electronic lab and test equipment, including oscilloscopes, DMMs, power meters, and data acquisition systems.
  • Hands-on hardware experience, including soldering, wiring harness assembly, and test rack construction.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols commonly used in aerospace or similarly demanding applications.
  • Familiarity with environmental testing and its impact on electrical components, including EMI/EMC, vibration, and thermal vacuum.
  • Experience working under formal quality standards such as NQA-1, AS9100, or similar.
  • Aerospace, nuclear, or other highly regulated industry experience is preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to contribute to design efforts with minimal direction.
  • Able to meet deadlines and perform effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Additional Role Details:

  • Travel required: less than 10%.
  • Position includes typical office and engineering lab activities, including prolonged sitting and standing, keyboarding, fine motor work, and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
