Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Industrial Automation Engineer to join their innovative team in Austin, Texas, US . This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems within manufacturing and industrial environments. You will be responsible for improving efficiency, quality, and safety through the application of advanced automation technologies. Key responsibilities include developing control system architectures, programming PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems, and integrating robotic systems. You will lead projects from conceptualization through to commissioning and provide ongoing support for existing automated processes. This position requires a deep understanding of industrial networking, cybersecurity for automation systems, and data acquisition. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and maintenance, to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions. Troubleshooting complex automation issues and ensuring the reliability and uptime of production lines are core functions. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial automation. Proven expertise in programming Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms, along with HMI/SCADA software (e.g., FactoryTalk View, WinCC), is mandatory. Experience with robotic programming (e.g., FANUC, KUKA) and motion control is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential.
