Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Automation Engineer to join their innovative team in Boston, Massachusetts . This hybrid role is central to optimizing and enhancing our automated production processes, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and safety across our state-of-the-art facilities. You will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and troubleshooting of complex automation systems, including PLC programming, HMI development, robotic integration, and SCADA systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, coupled with extensive experience in industrial automation technologies and best practices. Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to define automation requirements, developing detailed system designs and P&IDs, writing and debugging PLC code (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), configuring and customizing HMIs and SCADA software, and integrating various hardware components and robotic systems. You will also be involved in conducting risk assessments, developing safety protocols, and providing technical support and training to maintenance and operations staff. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing cutting-edge automation solutions. The ability to manage multiple projects, work effectively in a team environment, and communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is required, along with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation engineering, with a significant focus on project leadership and complex system design.
