Our client, a global leader in the (mention industry, e.g., petrochemical, aerospace, manufacturing) sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to join their innovative team in Houston, Texas, US . This is a critical role focused on optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and driving operational excellence. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in process analysis, system design, and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce costs. This position requires hands-on involvement in the facility and collaboration with cross-functional teams on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
Analyze existing production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and systems to enhance productivity, quality, and safety. Utilize simulation and modeling tools to test and validate process changes before implementation. Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement initiatives. Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including flowcharts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions. Collaborate with design engineers, operations managers, and production staff to ensure seamless integration of new processes. Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work times and optimize workflow. Develop and manage project plans for process improvement initiatives, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion. Train operations personnel on new processes and best practices. Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify trends. Stay current with industry advancements and emerging technologies in industrial engineering. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering within a manufacturing or production environment. Proven experience in process analysis, optimization, and implementation. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency with simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and CAD tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong project management abilities with a track record of successful project delivery. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments. Experience with data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Minitab). Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
