Our client, a leading manufacturing and technology firm in **Phoenix, Arizona**, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to optimize production processes and drive operational efficiency. This role is critical in analyzing current manufacturing systems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality. You will work closely with production teams, management, and engineering staff to redesign workflows, implement lean manufacturing principles, and integrate new technologies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, and proven experience in process improvement methodologies. Responsibilities include:
Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, workflows, and layouts to improve efficiency, throughput, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement lean manufacturing initiatives, including value stream mapping, 5S, Kanban, and continuous flow. Design and implement new production systems, equipment, and technologies. Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work and identify areas for productivity gains. Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, quality, design engineering) to solve production-related problems. Utilize data analysis and statistical methods to identify root causes of inefficiencies and quality issues. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing operations. Manage projects related to process improvement, facility layout, and equipment installation. Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in industrial engineering and manufacturing. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a significant focus on manufacturing environments. Proven experience with lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly desirable). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and simulation software (e.g., Arena, FlexSim) is a plus. Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Experience working with ERP systems and production planning tools.
