Job Description

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to optimize production processes and drive operational efficiency. This role is critical for improving productivity, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality through systematic analysis and implementation of engineering principles. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and improving integrated systems of people, materials, information, equipment, and energy. This is a hands-on, on-site position demanding a strong analytical mindset and practical application of engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze existing production processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement. Design and implement new manufacturing processes, layouts, and workflows. Develop and utilize statistical methods to analyze and assess process capabilities and product variations. Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement techniques. Develop time and motion studies to establish standard operating procedures and productivity benchmarks. Design and optimize material handling systems and plant layouts. Evaluate and recommend new equipment and technologies to enhance production capabilities. Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and schedules for engineering initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to implement improvements. Train production staff on new processes and procedures. Create and maintain process documentation, including flowcharts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on operational efficiency and improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all process designs. Lead problem-solving efforts related to production issues.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, preferably within a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus), and process optimization techniques. Proficiency with simulation software, CAD, and statistical analysis tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent project management and organizational abilities. Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Familiarity with supply chain and logistics principles. Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This role is based at our facility in Austin, Texas, US , and requires full-time on-site presence to effectively manage and implement process improvements within the manufacturing operations.
