Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Industrial Engineer to drive process improvements and operational excellence within their manufacturing and production facilities. This role, based out of Phoenix, Arizona, US , requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and advanced statistical analysis. You will be instrumental in optimizing production workflows, improving quality control, reducing waste, and enhancing overall plant efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical toolkit, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proven history of implementing successful process improvements in industrial settings. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality assurance, and management, to identify opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of efficient manufacturing and production systems. Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, waste, and bottlenecks. Develop and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality and productivity. Conduct time and motion studies, workflow analyses, and ergonomic assessments. Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor and improve product quality. Design factory layouts, material flow, and workspace arrangements for optimal efficiency. Develop and manage project plans for process improvement initiatives, ensuring timely completion and measurable results. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions. Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff on best practices in industrial engineering. Research and recommend new technologies and equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, cost, and safety. Prepare detailed reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Master's degree preferred. 7+ years of experience as an Industrial Engineer, with a strong focus on manufacturing and process optimization. Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent experience required. Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP). Expertise in various manufacturing processes and production systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with CAD software is a plus. Understanding of supply chain and logistics principles.
