Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing and operations team in Boston, Massachusetts, US . This role will focus on improving efficiency, productivity, and quality across our production lines and operational processes. You will be responsible for analyzing existing systems, designing innovative solutions, and implementing changes that lead to significant cost savings and performance enhancements. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, and a proven ability to manage complex optimization projects. This position requires on-site presence for direct observation and implementation.

Responsibilities:

Analyze manufacturing processes, workflows, and production layouts to identify areas for improvement. Design and implement efficient production systems, optimizing resource utilization and minimizing waste. Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance operational performance. Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, standards, and procedures. Conduct time and motion studies to establish work standards and improve labor productivity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering, to implement solutions. Develop business cases and project proposals for operational improvements. Lead and manage projects related to process optimization, automation, and new product introductions. Train production staff on new processes and continuous improvement initiatives. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in industrial engineering and operations management.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a focus on manufacturing or operations. Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), and statistical process control (SPC). Proficiency with simulation software and CAD tools for process design. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent project management and leadership abilities. Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders. Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES). Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities. Experience in the relevant industry sector is a plus.
